A qualified candidate would be one with a desire to ensure a quality education for all students of Mariposa County. The successful candidate will be selected by the Board of Trustees following an oral interview in an open session meeting.
Regular meetings of the Board of Trustees are normally held the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the District Office in Mariposa. Special meetings are called as needed and may be scheduled during the day or evening.
Interested residents of District 3 are encouraged to contact the School District Office at 5082 Old Highway North, P.O. Box 8, Mariposa, CA 95338, (209) 742-0250 for further information. 1. Why do you want to be a Board member?
2. What are the major goals that you would like to work towards accomplishing as a member of the Board?

810 API !
We are please to share the great news that the API score from the State mandated STAR test was 810.
800 is the coveted score that all schools try to attain.
This is a testimonial to the great teaching and hard work of the students during the past school year.
It is what happens when great kids from great families in a great community meet up with great teachers.
GO BEARS!!!

Back to School Night on the 15th!
Parents, families, and the community are invited to the Mariposa Middle School Annual "Back to School Night" this Tuesday, September 15th beginning at 5:30pm. We will end at 7:30.
We will have a short welcoming session and then the parents along with their children will follow that child's daily schedule to each of the classrooms.
The classroom sessions will only last 6 minutes which will alow the teacher to introduce themselves and to explain the basic goals of that particular class. Parents will have an opportunity to arrange an individual private conference at a convenient time.
The Library will also be conducting the annual Book Fair which allows people to buy books for their children or to donate to the MMS School Library or to an individual teacher's classroom.
We hope to see you there.

A message from Veg!
District Mandated Requirements for Volunteers driving MMS Students to and from Athletic Events:
1. Volunteers driving students alone, with no other adult in the vehicle, must be finger-printed. District will pay fees for this process, this year only.
2. All Drivers must have a current TB Test on File.
-Next available date: September 8th 2:00pm - 5:30pm and
September 15th 9:00am - 11:00am.
- These tests are taken at the Mariposa County Health Department. No appointments needed and these tests are free.
3. All Drivers must purchase ($5.00) a "H6" printout from the DMV. These printouts will provide your driving record for the last ten years. The DMV suggests that each parent make an appointment so that no one has to wait in line.
4. All Drivers must provide a copy of both their driver's license and copy of vehicle insurance.
5. Each Driver and Parent must complete the required waivers in order for their student to ride in any vehicle to an athletic function or fieldtrip. Forms will be made available at the mandatory parent meeting Thursday, August 27th.
We apologize for any inconvenience and for any fees, but we appreciate your help and support immensely. These mandates are for the safety of your child. The Coaches and Athletic Director are also required to meet these requirements. Thank you and we look forward to a fun and rewarding season! Go Bears!
