Exciting news! Next week we begin our four day Exploration Week. Students have the opportunities t0 take many great classes. If a student is currently failing regular classes we will be providing several study session in which students can catch up on some of their missing work. Some students have a small fee they need to pay for a specific class they have chosen for Exploration Week. Please make sure they have paid that fee by the first day of the session. If your child cannot afford that fee, there are many other great classes that don't need a fee for materials. Please let our office know if your child needs to be changed from a class because of the fee. If your child is leaving campus for a Exploration Week session please make sure you complete the permission slip for them. They cannot leave campus without that permission slip. Thank you

Eighth graders need to be aware that suspension for any reason during these last days will keep them from being able to participate in the Graduation Ceremonies. Please remind them to follow school rules and have a wonderful last few weeks.

On May 24th Mariposa Middle School eighth graders will be taking the Constitution test. If they do not pass it the first time they will be able to take it on Thursday, May 26th after school. A Constitution study session will be provided for all eighth graders not passing the test. It will be help during the first session of Exploration Week. Grades will be posted Tuesday evening, May 24th so you can check your child's grades to see if he/she has passed the test.

Thank you for all your support in the above activities.

Welcome back students!

Hope everyone had a great holiday.

This is an important week in education. The District, School Board, Teachers and District Personnel are all asking that you contact your local representatives and let them know the schools need money to continue the successful programs that we currently offer. There are letters at the school sites that you can sign and the schools will fax them to our representatives. We are also having a rally downtown Mariposa on May 13th, from 4 to 5:30. Please come and support the school district in requesting our representatives to get funding to the schools.

This week eighth graders are practicing for the May 24th Constitution Test. This is an eighth grade requirement. Your child has a study guide, on yellow paper, that will help he/she be successful on the test. Please help your child study a little each night so they are prepared. There will be lunch workshops, Tuesday, May 10, Thursday, May 12 and Friday, May 13. Please encourage your child to attend these Constitution workshops. The workshops are designed to help your child pass the Constitution Test.

On April 21 Mariposa Middle School sent home progress reports with your child. Please contact the school if you did not get a progress report. We can print out a new progress report for you.
