It's Red Ribbon Week at MMS!

This week the entire campus is bedecked with Red Ribbons as a reminder as well as a statement of the need to be DRUG FREE!

Parents are encouraged to have open, frank, and honest discussions with their children about the dangers of drug, alcohol, and tobacco usage.

If there is a concern about a child being involved with any drugs please feel free to contact the school office or check out our web site for links to county agencies that may offer support.

All contacts are confidential.

Report Cards sent home Friday, October 19th!

Mariposa Middle School students received their first quarter report cards this afternoon. If any students have an unsatisfactory grade of a D,F, or a U then parents are to sign the report card and return it to the school on Monday, October 22nd.

Parents are encouraged to discuss with their child the importance of good grades and offer suggestions to their children of ways to improve or maintain those grades listed on the report card.

Report card grades are really just a snapshot or reflection of what a child is doing in the classroom. Teachers do not "give" grades; they only "report" grades. Students EARN the grades assigned.

If any parents have questions or concerns they may contact any teacher by calling the school at 742-0320

First Ever College Night

Students and parents are encouraged to attend our FIRST EVER College Night event at Mariposa Middle School. We will be hearing from representitives of UC, Merced, CSU, Fresno, and the Community College of Oakhurst. Along with those fine folks, we will also have a financial planner available to answer questions about how to pay for your child's college experience.

We will begin at 5:30 in the Grandpa Doug Center.

It isn't too early to begin thinking about your child attending a college or university.

We hope to see you tonight!
